Our History

Skeet's Insurance Service, Inc. was established in August, 1967. Between 1967 and 1969 Skeet's Insurance Service was an agency on wheels. Founder, L. H. (Skeet) Glidewell converted a van into a mobile office and traveled throughout Stanislaus County writing automobile insurance policies. At that time we were known as Skeet's Mobile Insurance Service. In 1969, the agency rented its first office space at 600 Scenic Drive in Modesto. We are now located at 2307 Oakdale Road #400 in Modesto.

Skeet's two sons soon joined the agency, with Timothy joining in 1969 and Michael in 1973. It has remained a family-run organization to this day.

Tim and Mike purchased the agency as a partnership in October of 1990 so that Skeet could retire after 30 years in the insurance business and devote more attention to his many community services. The Agency was incorporated in 2001 and Timothy retired from the agency in January, 2006.

In 2016, Collin Glidewell joined the agency and took over in May of 2017 when Mike retired.

Skeet's Insurance Service, Inc. remains committed to continuing service in the Stanislaus County area with solid insurance products and financially strong insurance carriers. We write all forms of insurance including Automobile Insurance, Motorcycle Insurance, Homeowners and Fire Insurance, Business Insurance, Workers Comp and Recreation Vehicles Insurance.
